Grand opening of our museum

This year, October 23, the long-awaited ceremonial opening of our museum took place. We began with a holy mass in the Basilica of the Holy Cross, presided over by His Eminence, Fr. Card. Stanisław Dziwisz. Then we went to the Hall of St. Bernard – a place on the first floor – inaccessible to every day visitors, decorated with a series of paintings depicting scenes from the life of St. Bernard of Clairvaux.

Our guests had the opportunity to listen to a concert of the Clara Tumba instrumental ensemble and the TRIPLUM Male Vocal Quartet, presenting pieces from our musical collections.

Our guests were told about the project by Father Abbot Piotr Chojnacki, who signed the application which was submitted and looked after most of the work was carried out, as well as Tomasz Urynowicz, Councilor of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, Vice-Marshal in 2018-2021, involved from the very beginning in the project of creating and building the Cistercian Museum, friend of our abbey. Father Mateusz Kawa, who looked after the project on the Cistercian side, also said a few words about the exhibition and its mission.

Visiting the museum exhibition was carried out in a pleasant atmosphere and we received many warm words and expressions of appreciation.

We would like to thank our guests for participating in the celebrations, and special thanks go to Olga and Piotr Turkiewicz, Damian Pyznar and Tomasz Zalewski. We are very gratefull for their hard work – unless it, our exhibition would not have been created in this form and content.
